Papers concerning attempts to have the United States government ratify a leasing agreement for oil concessions near Brant, New York, made between Seneca Nation of Indians on Allegany and Oil Spring Reservations in the State of New York and Henry A. Walter as the representative of the Alden Aurora Gas Company and later the Shore Gas Company, both of Buffalo (the lease was ratified by the House of Representatives but never by the Senate). With copies of the lease, bills proposed, and correspondence with Indian officials and members of congress such as Senators Robert Wagner of New York, Lynn Frazier of North Dakota, and George Norris of Nebraska.
